Feyenoord returned to winning ways in style on Sunday, beating VVV Venlo 4-0 to record their first Eredivisie victory in three matches.
Two John Guidetti penalties, scored either side of half-time, gave hosts Feyenoord a 2-0 lead in the match at De Kuip.
Morocco international Karim El Ahmadi made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute, with the goal coming shortly after Guidetti’s second.
And midfielder Ricky van Haaren completed the scoring with seven minutes to go.
Visitors VVV had to play out the entire second half a man down after Nigerian Ahmed Musa received a second yellow card in the 43rd minute.
The win sees Feyenoord climb to fourth, five points back from league leaders AZ Alkmaar.
In other matches, Vitesse kept pace with Feyenoord courtesy of a 1-0 win away to NEC.
Giorgi Chanturia struck what proved to be the winner on 34 minutes, but the Georgia forward later become one of three players to be shown a red card by referee Reinold Wiedemeijer.
Chanturia and NEC’s Kevin Conboy were both given their marching orders in the 57th minute, to be joined by Vitesse substitute Stanley Aborah 13 minutes from time.
Victory takes Vitesse above Ajax and into fifth place, level on 17 points with Feyenoord.
Also on Sunday, Roda JC came from a goal down to defeated ADO Den Haag 4-1.
Hosts Roda trailed following Tjarron Chery’s goal for ADO, which came in the first minute of the match.
Sanharib Malki struck to level for Roda in the 15th minute, and ADO’s task became harder when they lost Hungary defender Gabor Horvath to a straight red six minutes before the break.
Mitchell Donald made it 2-1 to Roda just past the hour mark, before Malki bagged his second and Roda’s third in the 78th minute.
Ruud Vormer completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Finally, goals from Robbert Schilder and Anthony Lurling helped NAC Breda run out 2-0 winners at home to bottom side Excelsior, who are still without a victory from nine matches played this season.
