PSV Eindhoven and Twente remain deadlocked on top of the Eredivisie after both sides recorded wins on Saturday.
PSV, who lead the table on goal difference, enjoyed a 4-0 away win over AZ Alkmaar thanks to braces from Swedish striker Marcus Berg and Hungarian winger Balazs Dzsudzsak.
Reigning champions Twente, meanwhile, had a sterner test against relegation-threatened Vitesse.
A lone goal from Belgian winger Nacer Chadli was enough to hand all three points to Twente and keep his side level on 50 points with PSV, although they are 19 goals worse off than the league leaders.
In other results, ADO Den Haag maintained their push for European football with a 3-0 win over relegation-battlers VVV Venlo.
Jens Toornstra gave the hosts the lead seven minutes after the interval, before a brace from Russian striker Dmitri Bulykin sealed a win that kept ADO in fifth place and two points behind fourth-placed Groningen.
Feyenoord moved five points clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 home win over 13th-placed Heracles.
Ryo Miyaichi gave Feyenoord the lead after 18 minutes and Diego Biseswar put them two up just after the half-hour mark, before Mark Jan Fledderus pulled one back for Heracles on the stroke of half-time.
And Willem remain anchored to the foot of the Eredivisie despite their 3-3 draw with Utrecht, who climbed to seventh with the point.
Dries Martens gave Utrecht the lead after 23 minutes, but Jan-Arie van der Heijden equalised two minutes later before Juha Hakola put Willem ahead after half an hour.
Martens equalised for Utrecht 10 minutes after the interval, but the game looked to be over when on-loan Blackburn striker Maceo Rigters put Willem 3-2 ahead after 89 minutes.
There was enough time for a final twist in the tale, however, when Ismo Vostermans scored a last-gasp leveller for Utrecht to secure a point.
