Comfortable wins to PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse on Saturday mean there is a three-way tie at the top of the Eredivisie.
PSV, Vitesse and Ajax are all locked on 60 points, although Ajax can move ahead on their own if they avoid defeat when they host Heracles on Sunday.
Dick Advocaat’s PSV side enjoyed a 3-1 win at bottom side Willem II, who posed plenty of problems for the 21-time Dutch champions.
PSV had to wait until first-half stoppage time before taking the lead, through Mark van Bommel, but Willem were back on level terms nine minutes into the second half when Jordens Peters scored.
And Advocaat was forced to endure some nervy moments until late strikes from Ola Toivonen and Timothy Derijck gave them all three points.
Vitesse, meanwhile, had an easier time in their 3-0 home win over NAC Breda, powered by a Wilfried Bony brace and a goal from Renato Ibarra.
Elsewhere, Twente gave their hopes of European football a boost with a 2-0 victory over Roda JC, with Luc Castaignos and Nacer Chadli scoring the goals.breda
And PEC Zwolle played out a 1-1 draw with RKC Waalkwijk.
