PSV missed the chance to go top of the Eredivisie at the expense of Twente after a 3-1 defeat at giants Ajax on Saturday.

Twente strolled to a 2-0 win at home to ADO Den Haag to move a point clear on top while PSV were stunned by two late goals at the Amsterdam ArenA, marking consecutive defeats.

Danny Hoesen set up Viktor Fischer’s winner for Ajax and scored the goal to put them 2-1 ahead in the final 20 minutes.

Fischer went round a defender and slotted home the return ball from Hoesen – who also struck on 72 minutes – to make sure of the points for Ajax three minutes from time.

Earlier, captain Siem de Jong headed Ajax into the lead but after a quick break, Jeremain Lens made it 1-1 with a curling shot into the top corner.

Twente saw off 10-man ADO with strikes from Dusan Tadic and Dmitri Bulykin ending a run of three straight draws.

Last-placed Willem II earned just their second win of the season with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Heerenveen.

Feyenoord saw off RKC Waalwijk 2-0 for their fourth consecutive victory thanks to a pair of Graziano Pelle goals either side of half-time.
