Eriksen close to new Spurs contract

Christian Eriksen is close to signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Metro.

The Denmark international has been one of many stand out performers for the North London outfit this season, racking up forty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals while his return of twelve Premier League assists is bettered only by Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.

Serie A giants Juventus have been linked with a move for the midfielder though Spurs are desperate to retain his services ahead of their almost inevitable return to the Champions League.

Eriksen moved to White Hart Lane from Ajax in the summer of 2013 and has since played one hundred and twenty-eight times, scoring thirty goals.

Internationally he has been capped fifty-eight times for his country, scoring for them on six occasions.

Spurs travel to Chelsea on Monday evening and are priced at 7/5 to take all three points.
