“His commitment is the same – sometimes we maybe look too much at whether a player has a one-year contract or a four-year contract.
“In the end it is about commitment – maybe players in the last year of their contract show more commitment than a player with four more years on their contract.
“But when you see Christian and you compare him to different seasons, he is the same player.”
Those are the words of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino who has spoken about the commitment levels of Christian Eriksen as the rumours continue over his future in North London. Eriksen has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few months, and while there’s a chance that another club could swoop in and get him, it definitely feels like Spain will be his next destination.
Even if that’s the case, though, Spurs fans will be happy to learn that he is still seemingly committed to the cause at the club.
