According to Marca, Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur is hopeful of receiving a call from Real Madrid soon.
The Danish midfielder has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants for a very long time now. So far it hasn’t materialized, with Real mostly focusing their efforts on Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and head coach Zinedine Zidane clear about not wanting any alternatives to the Frenchman.
However, while Pogba would undoubtedly cost a lot of money – something which is the likeliest reason for his continued stay at Old Trafford, Eriksen has entered the final 12 months of his current deal with Spurs, which means he will be allowed to talk to clubs outside England from January to arrange a potential free transfer next summer.
And while the north London club are hoping to get their playmaker to sign a new contract, it appears that Eriksen himself desires a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. The 27-year-old has already expressed his readiness to embark on a new adventure.
