According to Sky Sports and their Italian branch, Christian Eriksen has had a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy and reiterated his stance in no uncertain terms that he wants to leave the club and join Inter Milan this month.
Eriksen was the subject of a long-drawn saga about Real Madrid being interested in his services as an alternative to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba last summer. He was also linked with United as a possible replacement for Pogba should the Frenchman be the one to move to the Spanish capital, but in the end, neither happened.
Inter are in the process of building a high-quality team and it has already started yielding results as they currently sit only behind Juventus in the Serie A table. They’ve already completed the signing of Ashley Young from United, and Eriksen appears to be the next name on their wish list with club CEO Giuseppe Marotta feeling confident an agreement between the clubs will be found before the ongoing transfer window is shut.
Meanwhile, Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho was adamant the 28-year-old Denmark international would be in the matchday squad for the clash against Norwich City tonight (Wednesday).
