Eriksen not good enough for Bayern – Matthaus

Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with departure from North London for a while now with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. There have been many reports of interest from Real Madrid who were apparently looking at the Denmark international as a potential long-term replacement for Luka Modric, but while the Los Blancos hesitate, Bayern Munich have reportedly already approached the midfielder.

Bayern had the services of James Rodriguez on a two-year loan from Real, which expired at the end of last season. Now they have taken Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, but with the Brazilian set to return to the Camp Nou at the end of this season, they are looking at Eriksen to fill the role.

However, according to Sport 1, Bayern legend and 1990 World Cup winner Lothar Matthaus believes that the Spurs man is not good enough to play that role at the Bundesliga giants.
