Eriksen set for new Spurs deal

The Independent understands that Christian Eriksen is closing in on a new £50,000 per week contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The twenty-four year old has been in fine form recently, and is set to be rewarded with a new deal with the surprise Premier League title contenders.

The Denmark international moved to White Hart Lane from Ajax in the summer of 2013 and has since racked up one hundred and fifteen appearances for the club, scoring twenty-nine goals.

He has made fifty-six appearances for his country, scoring six times while two of those outings came at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa when he was just eighteen years old.

Eriksen scored the winner as Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat title rivals Manchester City by two goals to one on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs, who have not won the league since 1961, are priced at 5/2 to do so this season.
