(GSM) – Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is happy to have secured the services of Chris Kirkland in an emergency loan deal.
Eriksson, who called Kirkland for England during the coach’s time at England, has been busy in the transfer market since taking over at Leicester.
Wigan Athletic’s Kirkland, 29, had found opportunities limited at DW Stadium and will be happy to have a fresh chance to prove himself.
Eriksson, on the other hand, is happy to have signed the ‘very good goalkeeper’.
He told Sky Sports News: “He’s a big guy and a very good goalkeeper. I had him at England, he never played at that time but he trained with us a lot.
“He has experience from England and the Premier League so he should be very good at this level.
“I think his problem has been injuries for many years but he’s fit now and let’s hope he stays fit.”
