Former England and Mexico manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is being linked to League Two side Notts County.
According to several newspapers, radio and TV reports on Tuesday, English football’s oldest league club, which is now owned by Middle Eastern business consortium Munto Finance, wants to appoint the former England coach as a director of football.
BBC Radio Nottingham have said that Eriksson was having talks with the club but County, formed in 1862 and a Football League member since 1888, and the Swede’s agent, Athole Still, declined to comment on the reports.
County finished 19th in League Two last season. Its only success was winning the FA Cup in 1894 and it was last in the top flight in 1991.
If an agreement is reached then the Swede could become director of football of the League Two strugglers.
