Competition: Champions League
Market: Erling Haaland to score anytime
Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport
Looking to book their spot in the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League on Tuesday night, Borussia Dortmund will welcome Sevilla to Signal-Iduna-Park.
Starting with the hosts, while Borussia Dortmund might have eventually fallen to that 4-2 defeat against Bayern Munich over the weekend, the German heavyweights should be looking to finish off their Champions League job in midweek. Eventually leaving Spain with a 3-2 win to show for their troubles on foreign soil, caretaker boss Edin Terzić will be calling on attacking talisman Erling Haaland to spearhead their charge on home soil. Bagging a brace against the defending Bundesliga and European champions over the weekend, the Norweigan superstar has been continuously linked with a move this summer. Breaking records since making the move to rural Germany, the 20-year-old has already bagged himself 35 goals for club and country so far this season. More impressive, along with recording another brace out in Spain last month, Haaland also has 12 strikes since returning from the festive break.
As for the visitors, knowing that they need a real turnaround out in Germany this week after watching Dortmund bag three away goals at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Sevilla find themselves in the midst of a real blip. Watching their Copa del Rey run come to an end thanks to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Barcelona, the Whites put in another sluggish display over the weekend. Slumping to what was a shock 2-1 defeat away at La Liga relegation scrapers Elche, Julen Lopetegui’s men have lost each of their last three matchups on the bounce and have also lost four of their last five contests. Enduring what has comfortably been their worst run of the season so far, Sevilla should face another stern test when they travel to rural Germany in midweek. With the free-scoring Haaland bagging himself a brace in the first-leg, we’re backing the Norweigan star to extend on that tally this week.
