(GSM) – Napoli midfielder is keen on leaving the club for Spanish side Espanyol only, according to the player’s agent.
The 26-year-old has endured a frustrating campaign with the Naples outfit in Serie A, failing to establish himself as a first-team regular.
The Argentina international spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek giants Olympiakos, and wishes to leave San Paolo this summer, if Espanyol came calling.
The left winger’s agent, Jose Sampieri, has claimed that an approach by Espanyol would be welcomed by the player.
“If we don’t close an agreement with Espanyol, Datolo will stay at Napoli and try to look for more opportunities (with the Italian side),” Sampieri told Sport.
“We have already made it clear to the club that we are not going to listen to any offers that aren’t from Espanyol.”
