Spanish radio station RAC1 is reporting that Espanyol are ready to launch an ambitious bid for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.
The 25-year-old has failed to impress during the loan spell with AC Milan, and it is now clear that he will not be staying at San Siro.
And with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp eager to offload the Italy international, it appears he will be forced to search for a new club this summer.
According to reports from Spain, La Liga strugglers Espanyol are ready to try and offer Balotelli an escape route from Anfield, with their new owner Chen Yansheng determined to make a couple of marquee signings this summer.
The Italian’s career has taken a turn for the worse of late, as he could only manage 2 goals in last 36 league appearances for Liverpool and Milan.
It is, therefore, not surprising that Balotelli has lost his place in the Italy squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
