According to Barcelona Reporter, Espanyol are ready to make a bid for Besiktas midfield maestro Matias Delgado.
It was reported that talks between club representatives and the player’s father, who also acts as his agent, were successful. Delgado was quite open about his desire for a new challenge and the lure of living in Barcelona and playing in La Liga persuaded him to entertain Espanyol’s advance.
An opening figure of €5 million has been put forward by Besiktas. But in light of the fact that his contract is due to expire next summer, instead of having him sit it out for a year and leave for free, the Turkish club will be open to serious offers this year.
The 25 year old Argentine had an impressive spell in Switzerland with FC Basel and then joined Besiktas for $6.5 million two seasons ago where he had become quite a fan favorite.
