Espanyol to cash in on Hector Moreno

Catalan media outlet Sport has learned that Espanyol are prepared to listen to offers for highly rated defender Hector Moreno.

Los Periquitos are well aware that a number of Europe’s top sides have been showing interest in the Mexican defender and they believe this is the right time to get the best possible deal.

Namely, given that Moreno’s deal is due to expire in June 2016, Espanyol would settle for some €7 million in the winter transfer window.

The club are going through serious financial difficulty and they are not in a position to reject any serious offer.

The only problem is that Hector Moreno is yet to prove his fitness after breaking his leg while playing for Mexico at the 2014 World Cup, although the 26-year-old is expected to start tomorrow’s Copa del Rey clash against Deportivo Alaves.

Moreno has spent last three years at Cornella El Prat, making 99 league appearances and scoring three goals.
