Esperance Tunis president Hamdi Meddeb has moved to confirm reports that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in midfielder Youssef Msakni.
The Saints officials are already identifying targets for the summer transfer window and they were recently linked with a move for the Espearnce Tunis star.
The president of the Tunisian giants, Hamdi Meddeb confirms that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing the 21-year-old midfielder.
“I can confirm the PSG link,” Meddeb was quoted as saying in Tunisian newspaper La Presse de Tunisie.
“Youssef Msakni came to me and asked me to take a leave of absence for three days in order to respond to an invitation from PSG.
”But, for now, I cannot respond favourably to his request given the commitments of the team.”
The attacking midfielder has been attracting a lot of interest with his performances in the Tunisian championship and CAF Champions League.
Msakni has so far scored 27 goals in 63 league games for Esperance, which is a great return for a midfielder.
Paris Saint-Germain appear to be leading the race for the player’s signature at the moment, but Arsenal are also interested in his services.
Earlier this year, Msakni stated that he would be very interested in moving to Europe at the end of the season.
