Tuttosport has learned that Trabzonspor are readying summer bid for AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien.
The Rossoneri plan to offload the Ghanaian midfielder this summer as his contract is due to expire in a year’s time, with the player’s €3 million yearly wage proving a burden on the club budget.
And it seems that Trabzonspor are prepared to offer Essien an escape route from San Siro, considering that the Turkish giants plan to offer around €4 million for his services.
They will propose the player a long-term deal worth €2.5 million and Milan officials are certainly hoping the Ghana international will agree on the contract.
Michael Essien joined the Rossoneri in January 2014 on a free transfer from Chelsea, but went on to make mere 7 Serie A outings.
The 31-year-old surprisingly did not start a single match for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup, making just one substitute appearance.
