Estrela Amadora have joined FC Porto, Nacional Funchal and Pacos de Ferreira in the semi finals of the Portuguese Cup after beating Vitoria Guimaraes on Tuesday.

While the match appeared to be heading for extra time, Estrela Amadora forced a decision with seven minutes to go when forward Rui Varela netted for 0-1.

Should Estrela Amadora survive the semi final stage, they are to make their second appearance in a final. In 1990, they beat Farense in two legs to win the trophy.
