Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that AS Roma are hoping to sign French midfielder Etienne Capoue from Tottenham.
The Giallorossi boss Rudi Garcia is looking for midfield reinforcements and he is hoping to lure the France international to Stadio Olimpico.
Garcia knows Capoue well from French Ligue 1 and believes he would add much needed steel to the centre of the park.
As a result, Roma sporting director Walter Sabbatini has flown to London to enquire about the possibility of signing the 25-year-old midfielder.
Etienne Capoue joined Spurs from Toulouse in the summer and while he enjoyed a bright start to the season in England, he has struggled for playing time of late.
In spite of the lengthy injury list at White Hart Lane, the Frenchman has only been used sparingly by new boss Tim Sherwood, and there is a realistic possibility that he could leave the club in the January transfer window.
