Samuel Eto’o’s contract with Barcelona will expire in June 2010 and a host of clubs have already queued up to enquire about his availability while Barca refuse to grant him the mega pay-rise he has been demanding.

At Canal Catala TV programme, ‘La Ronda’, Eto’o spoke freely about his desire to remain at the Camp Nou. “I have been here for five years now and last summer was the worst experience I had. I accepted the club’s decision to sell me but I really wanted to stay and become an important part of the team,” he started off.

“I will fulfil my contract until 2010 but I wish to remain at the club beyond that. I will fight for this club until they no longer need me to. I will never hurt Barca fans by going back to Madrid. I can say now that I’m already at the best club in the world,” he proclaimed proudly.
