  • La Liga
  • After two games the La Liga table has an ominous look about it for almost everybody. Barcelona and Real Madrid occupy the top two places after they both had comfortable away wins.

Second half goals from Ibrahimovic and Messi gave Barcelona a 2-0 win at Getafe whilst Granero, Guti and Cristiano Ronaldo helped Real to go one better, winning 3-0 at Espanyol.

The only other teams to have a 100% record after two games are Valencia and Athletic Bilbao. Valencia had an impressive 4-2 win at Vallodolid with David Villa helping himself to two goals and Bilbao won 1-0 at Xerez. The newcomers had Jesus Mendoza sent off and will be nervously awaiting their first point in the top flight.

  • Serie A
  • There are still three teams with 100% records in Italy after three games. No surprise about Juventus as they continued their fine start with a 2-0 win at Lazio. Trezeguet and Caceres scored their late goals.

The other two teams at the top are Genoa, who hammered Napoli 4-1 and Sampdoria who won 1-0 at Atalanta despite being reduced to ten men early in the second half.

Inter look to be back in form and a 2-0 win over Parma courtesy of Milito and Eto’o sees them just two points behind the leaders.

Milan’s difficult start continued as they could only manage a 0-0 draw at Livorno, who are yet to win. Catania and Atalanta find themselves adrift at the bottom with no points yet.

  • Ligue 1
  • Bordeaux and Lyon continue to battle it out at the top of the French league. Gouffran gave Bordeaux a 1-0 win over Grenoble whilst Lyon had Michel Bastos to thank for their 1-0 win over Lorient.

Montpellier and Marseille stay well in contention after they both had victories by the odd goal whilst PSG dropped off the pace after losing 2-0 at Monaco.

  • Bundesliga
  • Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen lead the way in Germany, both being two points clear of the rest.

Petric, Elia and Ze Roberto gave Hamburg an easy 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart, whilst Bayer Leverkusen won by the odd goal in a five goal thriller at champions Wolfsburg.

All of the other contenders stayed in touch with the leaders, most notably Bayern Munich, who had a fine 5-1 win at Borussia Dortmund. Gomez, Schweinsteiger, Ribery and a pair from Muller, completed Bayern’s victory.

  • Eridivisie
  • PSV, Feyenoord and FC Twente sit at the top in Holland after they all enjoyed victories at the weekend.

Dzsudzsak, Manolev and Bakkal gave PSV a 3-0 win over Roda JC. Feyenoord won 3-2 at Willem II courtesy of a late winner from De Guzman and Steve McClaren’s Twente continued their good start with a hard earned 3-2 win at home FC Utrecht. Ruiz came up with a crucial last minute winner.

Just behind the top three sit Ajax who had a 6-0 win over NAC. Amongst the scorers was Cvitanich who bagged a hat-trick.

  • Portugal
  • Braga are the only team with a 100% record in Portugal after they beat Maritimo 2-1 away from home. However, Benfica and Porto are lurking just behind after they both had easy wins scoring four goals each in the process.

  • SPL
  • Rangers and Celtic unsurprisingly stay joint top of the Scottish league although they both surprisingly could only manage to draw at the weekend.

Rangers were held 0-0 at Motherwell whilst Celtic missed the chance to open up a lead by drawing 1-1 at home to Dundee United.

  • Greece
  • Panathinaikos continued their good start in Greece with a 1-0 win at Panthrakikos. In what appears to be a really tight league the 2-2 draw between Larissa and Atromitos was the only game in which any side scored more than one goal.

  • Turkey
  • Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are six points clear of the rest after just five games! Galatasaray had a surprisingly easy 3-0 win over Besiktas whilst Fenerbahce had a 1-0 win at Bursaspor. Both teams have a 100% record.
