Lille winger Nicolas Pepe has this season emerged as one of the most sought after footballers in Europe.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a sensational season in France thus far. He managed a combined tally of 28 goals and assists in as many matches in all competitions for Lille. His exploits have not been left unnoticed as a host of Europe’s biggest clubs continue to line up for his signature.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are all keeping tabs on the Lille winger who is expected to command a fee in the region of €80 million.
Lille are hoping such a steep price would be enough to put potential suitors off.
French media report Barcelona have sent scouts to watch the Ivorian in action last weekend while the PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi is said to have already met with Lille president Gerard Lopez to discuss a possibility of signing the in-demand winger.
Barcelona and PSG are, of course, the two clubs unlikely to be swayed by Lille’s asking price.
