Everton have agreed a deal with Napoli over a transfer of Allan, according to multiple sources. The midfielder is set to undergo a medical in Liverpool ahead of the proposed move in the coming days. The transfer is set to cost the Toffees €25 million (£21.7m) as an initial fee, plus add-ons potentially amounting to €3m (£2.6m).
The 29-year-old Brazil international has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League club and he is about to be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti, having already played under his guidance for two years at Napoli.
Everton faced some still competition for Allan’s signature in the form of Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, but the prospect of working with Ancelotti again seems to have played the part of the crucial factor in making his decision.
Ancelotti has reportedly made rebuilding the Everton midfield section his top priority task. Apart from Allan, the Merseyside Blues are in advanced talks to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. They’ve also tried to work out a deal with Watford for Abdoulaye Doucoure, but the two clubs remain far apart in their respective valuations of the player.
