According to a recent report from Diario Sport, Everton and Aston Villa are interested in trying to sign backup goalkeeper Neto.
The 32-year-old currently plies his trade for Barcelona but it doesn’t seem as if he’s going to get a regular sniff in the first team anytime soon.
Where he ends up, especially if it is with one of these two clubs, may only come down to finances if they’re both able to remain in the Premier League.
Villa seem pretty safe and may even push for a place in the top half before the season is done, but Everton are in all kinds of trouble right now.
The Toffees are facing a tidal wave of tough fixtures in the weeks ahead and with Frank Lampard at the helm, there isn’t a whole lot of confidence that they’re going to come away with many points.
At this rate, Neto heading to Villa wouldn’t be a surprise whatsoever.
