Everton are interested in signing Maxence Caqueret from Lyon in the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport. The report has claimed that Crystal Palace are also keen on a deal for Caqueret in the middle of the campaign.
Lyon are in financial distress at the moment, and there is a lot of uncertainty over the French club. Les Gones have been provisionally relegated to Ligue 2 at the end of the season, and there is a chance that they will have to sell some of the best players. And Everton, who beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this past weekend, and Palace are keen on taking advantage of this situation.
Caqueret has been on the books of Lyon since 2011. The defensive midfielder came through the French club’s youth academy and has established himself in the first team. The 24-year-old has made six starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 and has made one start and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League so far this season.
