Everton and Leicester City are interested in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. It has been reported that the Toffees and the Foxes are among a number of clubs who are aiming to bd for the 25-year-old former Newcastle United striker once the season has ended.
Toney is one of the best strikers in the Championship and has been in brilliant form this season. According to WhoScored, the Englishman has made 43 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Brentford this season, scoring 30 goals and providing 10 assists in the process. The Bees have finished in the Championship playoffs and could win promotion to the Premier League.
Everton and Leicester both are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season. The Foxed look set to clinch a Champions League place, while the Toffees could miss out if they do not win their remaining games and results elsewhere do not go their way.
