Everton and Villa keen on Doyle

According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Kevin Doyle is a target for a number of English Premier League clubs at the moment, with Everton currently leading the chase.

Doyle is of course playing in the second tier of English football with Wolves and would surly welcome a move back into the big time.

The Midlands club are now sure to fight tooth and nail to keep one of their prized assets, especially after losing fellow striker Steven Fletcher to Sunderland last week.

Wolves did pocket £14 million for Fletcher so will not need to sell for finical reasons.

Doyle is a long term target for David Moyes and he now could make a move for the Irishman right at the end of this transfer window.

It looks as though the Toffee’s may have some competition to secure his services though with Aston Villa also keeping tabs of the Ireland international.

There are not many harder-working strikers in the Premier League and if given the right service, Doyle can be a very good finisher.

As mentioned though, the ball looks to be in Wolves’ court and if they don’t want to sell – then they don’t have too.

We shall see.
