As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Premier League side Everton are finally showing signs of life in the transfer window as they are supposedly interested in signing David Lopez from Espanyol. The Goodison Park faithful have been left worried and frustrated by their distinct lack of activity in the transfer market this summer when compared to the teams around them, but now, it seems as if they’re preparing for a late surge in the weeks leading up to the new Premier League season.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has been linked with a series of other clubs, including Valencia and Real Betis, but the question remains as to whether or not he’ll stick with La Liga or jump ship in search of a new challenge in English football. Lopez has been with Espanyol since 2016 when he made the move from Italy with Napoli where he also spent two years playing in Serie A.
