Everton back in for Van Aanholt

Everton could be set to revive their interest in Crystal Palace full-back Patrick van Aanholt, according to the Mail Online.

The Netherlands international had been targeted by Sam Allardyce last season and could still be on the Toffees despite them appointing Marco Silva and the former England boss’s replacement earlier this week.

Van Aanholt has racked up forty-three appearances for Palace in one-and-a-half seasons with the club, having played almost one hundred times for Sunderland prior to his switch to Selhurst Park.

He began his professional career with Chelsea but made just a handful of appearances, sending most of his formulative years out on loan with several clubs including Coventry City, Leicester City and Vitesse Arnhem.

Internationally, he has been capped seven times for the Netherlands’ senior side and played in the defeat to England back in March.

With all of those outings coming in friendlies, he remains eligible to play for Curacao.
