Everton close to Khedira deal

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Everton are close to signing Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old veteran would be making his way over to Goodison Park on an 18-month deal, with reports as of late indicating that he is very interested in giving the Premier League a go.

His tenure with the Italian champions seems to be coming to a gradual end, and on the flip side, Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti clearly wants to bring in some more reinforcements. Everton are currently in the mix for a place in the top four and if they want someone who can add some stability in the middle of the park, Khedira could well be their man.

The January transfer window is shaping up to be one of the most interesting windows in recent memory and this could be one of the biggest deals of them all.
