Everton consider Fulham’s Anguissa

Everton are contemplating a move to sign Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa from Fulham this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Cameroonian midfielder started out at Cotonsport in his homeland and spent a year at Stade Reims B before joining Olympique Marseille, where he earned first-team promotion in 2016. He arrived to Craven Cottage two years later and was sent out on loan to Villarreal for the 2019-20 season as Fulham fought their way to the Premier League. He returned to the club last summer, making a total of 34 appearances in all competitions this term.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti apparently admires the 25-year-old’s qualities very much, though Anguissa is not the only reported midfield target for the Toffees. They’ve also been linked with Sheffield United’s Sander Berge.

Ancelotti is said to be looking to add some dynamism and steel to his midfield ranks, and Anguissa could look to remain in the Premier League with Fulham likely to suffer relegation back to the Championship at the end of the season. His contract runs until 2023 and Fulham have the option to extend it by a further year, which means the move isn’t likely to be cheap if Everton follow up on the reported interest.
