Everton are looking at Rangers manager and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as a possible candidate to replace Real Madrid-bound Carlo Ancelotti, according to The Athletic. The report has claimed that Ancelotti is on the verge of leaving Everton and will return to his former club Madrid to replace the already-departed Zinedine Zidane.
The Premier League club are now considering replacements for the Italian tactician, and one of the names reportedly on the list is Rangers boss Gerrard. The former England international midfielder has been in charge of Rangers since 2018 and guided the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Rangers could also play in the Champions League next season, and it is hard to see Gerrard leave the Gers now. Moreover, the Englishman is a Liverpool legend, and he might not want to take charge of Merseyside rivals Everton. It could affect his chances of managing Liverpool in the future as well.
