Everton eye Kone move

Everton are eyeing a move for Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone, according to the Mail Online.

The Merseyside club are on the lookout for a new defender, with John Stones strongly linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

Manchester City are leading the chase to secure Stones’ services and new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has identified Kone as a potential replacement.

Both West Ham United and champions Leicester City are also considering bidding for the Ivory Coast international, who only moved to the Stadium of Light six months ago.

He racked up fifteen appearances for the Black Cats, scoring two goals and helping them secure their top flight status while he played almost one hundred and forty times for previous club Lorient.

Internationally the twenty-seven year old has been capped five times for Ivory Coast having represented France at every level from U17 to U20.
