Italian press Gazzetta dello Sport have learned that Premier League outfit Everton are planning a swoop for AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The Toffees have already submitted an offer in excess of €38 million for the Dutch midfielder who spent last two years struggling with serious injuries.
Strootman underwent several operations before finally returning to full fitness in May and Everton new boss Ronald Koeman is willing to explore options and attempt to bring his compatriot to Goodison.
Former Everton manager is given a significant war chest and Toffees are expected to be highly active during the summer transfer window.
Giallorossi have already lost a player at the centre of the park as Miralem Pjanic made a move to rivals Juventus and AS Roma are believed to be not too keen to sell Strootman.
The 26-year-old Dutchman joined Serie A heavyweights from PSV Eindhoven in 2013, but has barely set foot on the pitch following his injury in March 2014.
