Everton fail in £30m Sigurdsson bid

Swansea City have rejected a £30m bid from Everton for Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Mirror.

The Iceland international has been heavily linked with a move away from the South Wales side this summer with 2016 Premier League Champions Leicester City also monitoring the situation.

However, he will not be allowed to go on the cheap with a fee of £40m closer to what his current valuation is.

Sigurdsson secured a permanent move to the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2014 having previously had a loan stint there in 2012.

Between those two spells he spent two seasons at Tottenham Hotspur but failed to hold down a regular starting berth.

Since returning to Swansea, he has played one hundred and twenty-eight times in all competitions, scoring thirty-seven goals.

Internationally, he has been capped forty-nine times for his country, scoring fifteen times and was a key member of their Euro 2016 squad.
