Everton go after Godfrey

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Everton have made an approach to try and sign Norwich City star Ben Godfrey.

The Toffees have had a strong start to the new Premier League season but they’re still going in search of a new centre-back in order to really steady the ship from a defensive standpoint. The Canaries currently value Godfrey at more than £25 million and because of that, unless they’re willing to accept a compromise or perhaps a loan move, Everton may not pursue it.

The club has already spent a whole lot in an attempt to revamp their squad and the early signs are good. Ancelotti doesn’t even consider Godfrey to be his first option right now with Fikayo Tomori taking his place in that regard, but they’re smart enough to know that they need some backups with the summer transfer window closing in a matter of days.
