Everton go after Magalhaes

According to a recent report from Le10 Sport, Everton are interested in the possibility of trying to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes. The 22 year old is believed to be valued at around £25 million and is widely considered to be one of the brightest young defenders in French football, if not in all of Europe.

There is said to be some competition in the race for his signature, as you’d expect, with Arsenal and Leicester both making their interest known, too. The Toffees usually wouldn’t stand a chance when put up against two teams who are almost guaranteed to be playing in Europe next season, but the appeal of Carlo Ancelotti could be the difference maker.

The veteran manager has many successful years behind him at a range of different clubs, and if Gabriel gravitates towards that idea, then Everton could be in luck once the summer transfer window finally opens.
