Everton and Hull City are locked in the battle for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady, according to Izvestia.
The Irish midfielder has expressed his desire to move to English Premier League having failed to adapt to life in Russia.
And with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, Spartak confirmed they would listen to offers for the 27-year-old in January.
Russian daily newspaper Izvestia understands that Everton and Hull City have already presented their proposals to the player’s official representative with a view of luring him to England in January.
Even though neither side are prepared to offer McGeady more than €1.2 million per campaign, which is significantly less than the €1.9 million he is currently earning at Spartak, the player is prepared to take a pay cut in order to return to England.
His suitors Everton continue to impress in English Premier League and are priced at 4/1 to achieve a top 4 finish.
