Everton in for Sigurdsson

Everton are ready to reignite their interest in Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Mail Online.

Toffee’s boss Ronald Koeman was originally interested in signing the Iceland international last summer though the South Wales outfit had no intention of selling.

However, with Paul Clement’s side potentially set to lose their place in the top flight they may struggle to retain his services for next season.

The Merseyside outfit are likely to be playing Europe one again next season and Koeman is keen to strengthen his squad accordingly.

Sigurdsson had a loan spell with the Swans during the 2011/12 season before signing for the permanently in 2014.

Since then he has racked up one hundred and twenty-two appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring thirty-six goals.

Internationally he has been capped forty-nine times for his country and was part of the squad that reached the quarter finals of last summer’s European Championships.
