Everton are readying a new bid for Sporting CP midfielder William Carvalho, Record has suggested.
The Toffees have ambitious plans ahead of the new campaign and manager Ronald Koeman has outlined the Portugal international as one of his top targets.
However, the problem is that while Sporting are holding out for €45 million, Everton do not seem prepared to offer more than €20 million, so it is clear that chances of the transfer going through are not that great.
The 24-year-old had an important role to play as Portugal lifted the Euro 2016 trophy, starting five games at the tournament finals.
He has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League over the last year or so, but there have been no clubs ready to match the asking price so far.
William Carvalho will feel this is the right time to leave the Lions for a top European club, having spent last three years as a key member of the squad at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
