According to a recent report from Mirror, Everton are interested in signing Lille defender Gabriel. The belief is that the Toffees are set to make a new centre back their priority signing during the summer trasnfer window as Carlo Ancelotti finally gets the chance to build this squad up in his own vision after his first few months on the job.
The young Brazilian is currently contracted to stay at the French club until at least 2023, but with Everton not exactly being shy to spend in the market these days, it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see Ancelotti make a serious investment or two this summer.
At the age of 22 the popular opinion is that he could be a real leader for the future in this Everton side, especially as they set their sights on working their way back into the Europa League – and potentially even beyond in the next few years.
