Daily Mail understands that Everton are stepping up their efforts to sign French midfielder Joshua Guilavogui from Atletico Madrid.
The 23-year-old only joined los Colchoneros last summer, but he has struggled for playing time at Vicente Calderon.
Guilavogui was allowed to sign for Saint Etienne on a short-term loan in January and everything suggests he will not be returning to Spain.
With Atletico Madrid now looking to cash in on the talented footballer, Everton seem ready to step up their interest.
The Toffees have been keeping close tabs on the France international for a while and they hope to sign him on a season-long loan.
Joshua Guilavogui featured in seven matches for les Verts this term before picking up a hamstring injury in April.
