Everton have joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur centre back Federico Fazio, according to the Mail Online.
The defender has been strongly linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks, though the Toffees are eyeing a replacement for want-away John Stones.
The England international has handed in a transfer request as he attempts to push through a move to Chelsea, and the Premier League champions are expected to make a final £40m bid before next week’s transfer deadline.
Fazio only moved to White Hart Lane last summer, and made thirty-one appearances in all competitions including twenty starts in the Premier League.
However, with Spurs’ boss Maurico Pochettino adding three defenders in the summer, the former Sevilla man has moved down the pecking order and looks set to be allowed to leave.
