Daily Express is reporting that Everton are prepared to offer Aiden McGeady an escape route from Spartak Moscow.
The former Celtic winger seems to have regretted his decision to move to Russia, with the player hinting at the move to English Premier League on several occasions.
And it appears that he is finally set to be granted his wish, with Everton reportedly looking to lure him to the Goodison Park.
The Toffees have been alerted of the player’s availability after he rejected a new contract in Moscow, and with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Spartak may have no choice but to cash in on the Ireland international in January.
Everton could, however, face competition from Aston Villa and Fulham, who are also believed to be keen.
Despite sitting just one point adrift of second-placed Chelsea, the Toffees are 7/4 to achieve a top 6 finish.
