(GSM) – Louis Saha may not have age on his side, as the striker is on the wrong side of 30’s, but that hasn’t deterred the French striker to find the net for Premier League club Everton FC.
Saha, who scored his 11th goal of the season in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham, insists performing well for the club is his top priority, but he would love to be in South Africa next summer.
However, the former Manchester United player is focused on Toffees form and has placed all thoughts of a possible France call-up to one side.
He told evertonTV: “I am trying to put thoughts of a World Cup call-up to one side.
“I need to concentrate on my form for Everton. Obviously though if I got a call-up I would love to be there.”
Meanwhile Saha, 31, believes France’s controversial World Cup qualification should now be confined to history.
Following the infamous Thierry Henry handball incident, FIFA rejected calls for a replay or to allow the Republic of Ireland into the tournament as an extra team.
He said: “It is a shame people are still talking about the way France qualified.
“It was a decision made by the referee but it wasn’t a decision in the last minute.
“There was plenty of time for the Republic of Ireland to score another goal. France did the job so we should move on now.”
