Everton make Sigurdsson approach

Everton have made an approach for Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Express.

The Merseyside club have tabled an offer of around £40m, with a further £5m in add-ons in a potential deal that would take their summer spending to over £130m.

Sigurdsson is keen to join the Toffees, who have already signed Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klassen, Henry Onyekuru, Sandro Ramirez, Cuco Martina and Wayne Rooney ahead of he new season.

The Iceland international has made one hundred and forty-seven appearances across two spells with the South Wales club, scoring forty-four goals.

He had a loan spell at the Liberty Stadium during the 2011/12 campaign before signing permanently in the summer of 2014.

In between those two stints he spent a season with Tottenham Hotspur while he has also played for Reading during his time in England.

He has fifteen goals in fifty outings for his country and starred as the reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
