According to Sky sources, Everton officials have touched down in Barcelona in order to try and push through a deal for defender Yerry Mina. The popular Colombian defender, who scored three goals at the 2018 FIFA World Cup this year, has been linked with a move to Goodison Park for a few weeks now.
If the deal does end up going through then Mina will be taking part in a medical in Barcelona as opposed to back in England, as the Toffees are short on time courtesy of today being Deadline Day. Mina hasn’t been able to make the desired impression that he wanted at the Nou Camp, but there are clearly opportunities for him elsewhere to succeed.
Everton have been pushing hard to improve their squad ahead of the new season, in an attempt to push themselves back up into the discussion when it comes to fighting for European qualification.
