Everton quartet set for new deals

Everton are set to offer four of their first team squad improved deals at the end of the season, according to the Express.

James McCarthy – who only signed for the club last summer, John Stones, Ross Barkley and Seamus Coleman will all begin negotiations in the summer after impressing manager Roberto Martinez.

McCarthy was taken to Goodison Park by his former manager at Wigan Athletic shortly after the Spaniard arrived on Merseyside, and has made twenty-nine appearances so far this season.

Coleman has featured twice more for the club, and despite playing mostly at full-back, is their second top scorer with seven goals in all competitions.

Barkley has burst into the Toffee’s first team in fine form which has seen him recognised by England manager Roy Hodgson while Stones has also been given opportunities in the first team this campaign having made the step up from the Championship last January.
